Trying to Embrace the End of the Eras Tour
A little over two years ago, I fought Ticketmaster and was one of the very fortunate ones to score Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour tickets at face value. Unless you live under a boulder, you’re well aware how iconic the Eras Tour has become…but back then, when we bought the tickets we had NO IDEA what we were in for or what the Eras Tour would become.

Trying to Follow Elin Hildebrand’s Advice
About a year and a half ago I had the privilege of getting to attend an event where Elin Hildebrand was the keynote speaker. Elin is one of my absolute favorite authors – to date I have read 18 of her 33 books (number 19 is sitting beside me ready to be cracked open). Elin posts about her writing process on Instagram, but hearing her speak about it in person was fascinating. The two things Elin stresses keep her writing juices flowing are writing daily and reading often. I love to write – obviously I have a blog and I have been an avid reader my whole life. The problem…

Six years is a long time without your best friend
I’ve been thinking a lot about friendships lately. They change and morph throughout our lifetimes. As many of you know, I started this blog after the passing of my lifelong best friend in 2018. Heather and I met in kindergarten, I literally don’t remember a time when I didn’t know her, and there are few memories throughout much of my life that she didn’t play an active role. In some ways the last six years have always felt a little strange without her – there are always those things that aren’t the same with anyone else. It was a daily struggle for me in the months after Heather died. (My words…

Trying to Do Better in 2024
As 2023 was winding down, I started thinking a lot about what I did well throughout the year, and what I could do to try a little bit harder. It became blazingly obvious to me – I’m either on fire or I’m not. There is very little in between. When I left my job in May, my goal was to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a writer. Reality is, I didn’t write at all – for MONTHS. Life was crazy, we had a lot going on, and I wanted to focus on my family. Writing was not a priority. I decided writing would happen when the kids went back…

The Official Epic Story of Us-California Adventure Part 2
I’m back with episode two of our California vacation! When we left off on the last episode, it was Friday and we had just hit up Costco in Seaside, California for some needed supplies – namely bottled water! I can’t stress this enough – if you are going on a lengthy vacation – go to Costco and buy water! You will save a TON of money! (That is if you have a Costco membership, otherwise Target, Walmart, or any supermarket would definitely save you $$!) Anyway, now back to the vacation details! Day 4: Saturday We started Saturday by grabbing breakfast at The Butter House in Seaside. The wait was…

Wishing my friend,Monica, an extremely Happy 40th Birthday!
Other than my husband, I have never had a friend who loves me, encourages me, supports me, and just all around “gets” me like Monica does.
